Don’t you just hate when you’re so focused on getting money to pay the bills, and then you actually forget to pay them? When I woke up the morning after my too-eventful day, the repo man was in my apartment. He’d already taken my chair – I didn’t protest out loud, but.. really? My chair? I have one chair in my entire apartment and he had to take that one? – by the time I woke up, and was getting one of my vases of flowers when I finally did wake up. “Oh!” I exclaimed when I woke up, but that was all. I stared in horror as he cackled, and I nearly cried. After such an unsuccessful night of ‘fun’, now I was being repoed..
I had to eat my cereal sitting on the edge of the bathtub, but it was better than nowhere. What did I want to do today? There.. wasn’t really much that I found I wanted to do. I was still irritated about having my stuff taken, so I didn’t really want to do much, and certainly didn’t want to do dishes.
So I plopped myself down at my piano, and played for hours. From light ‘til dark. I hadn’t even noticed how long I’d played – I never used to even enjoy playing for one hour before.. even if it doesn’t always have good results, I really do love this wish-granting thing. I’m not that different than I used to be, but I am where it counts.
When I finally realized how long I’d been playing, I decided that I wanted to go to the park and play. Spice things up a little. Plus, then people could hear my beautiful rendition of ‘Twinkle, Twinkle’.
Little did I know, I was being robbed at that very moment. It was as if something in the back of my mind tingled though – probably the fact that I wanted to keep my stuff – and I suddenly felt like I needed to go home. It might have been the hunger, though.
When I got up the elevator and saw the burglar coming out of my apartment, I nearly had a heart attack. Thankfully, he didn’t seem to realize I was the occupant of the apartment he had just robbed, and just casually walked past me – with the oddest look on his face, I remembered later, and had to wonder if my want for him to not shoot me did something to him. Once he was past, I couldn’t help it, without even thinking I pulled out my phone and called the police. He didn’t notice, though, and I am really thankful for that..
He took my drums. I felt like just.. screaming. When I got inside and saw how very bare my apartment was without my chair, vase, and drums, I had to grit my teeth in order to not scream from frustration. Why did the stupid burglar have to come the same night as the repoman? I decided to distract myself by fixing some waffles. I needed waffles, I don’t know why, I wasn’t a big waffle person. But they sounded soothing. But then I heard a knock on my door, and went to answer it, seeing a rather sheepish looking policeman. I immediately knew – they hadn’t gotten my drumset back for me. I just stared blankly as he told me that they weren’t able to catch the man, but that if they were to find him again they’d be sure and let me know. I automatically said something that I don’t even remember, but it seemed to satisfy the policeman because he then left, and I got back to my waffles.
By the time I finished making my plate of waffles – why did I make a whole lot of them? It takes more time. But I wasn’t completely right in the head at the time – and eating them, on the edge of the bathtub, it was beginning to get light out. I don’t even know what time it was, but it was light out, I was dizzy from exhaustion, my kitchen had millions of dishes everywhere that I didn’t want to clean, and my phone was ringing. I don’t think, even with my wish granting ability, that life alone is for me..
I was kind of happy to get back into my rut, and wanted it to stay that way for a little while. I wanted my life to get back to good, and have no more burglars or repo men. I would pay my bills on time, and I would save up enough for an alarm. The day after the repo man and burglar, at work I nearly fell asleep standing up, and Buster (who you can see to your right, my left, in the above picture) expressed his worry for me. I told him I was fine, I had just.. had a really rough day yesterday, and thought that I actually was beginning to prefer work to days off. Either they were boring or too exciting, no real in betweens.
"Well, then you should get home and get to bed if you're this tired. Don't want you passing out in the street somewhere."
I laughed lightly, and gave him a hug. "Thanks, Buster. I'll do that. I was invited to a party at Lola Belle's - no idea why, why would a five star celebrity invite a nobody like me? - but I'm.. seriously exhausted."
He hugged me back, then laughed, and pulled back, smiling at me. "A nobody? You're not nobody, Sean. Even if you weren't a two star celebrity, you still wouldn't be nobody."
What? I didn't quite comprehend what he said, and just stared at him for a moment, blinking. "I'm a what?"
"You didn't realize? You're a celebrity, Sean. Skipped one star all together, straight to two. You're friends with Aria Trill and some other pretty famous people at work, it just comes with the territory."
It had happened. I was famous! I.. me? Really? I guess I had wanted it since I was five, but I didn't think it would be as easy as befriending coworkers. We stood there talking for little while longer about my new celebrity status, and I noticed people glancing at me and whispering amongst themselves as they walked into the theater. This lasted until I started swaying on my feet, eyes half closed, and Buster smiled, steadying me by grabbing my shoulders. "Shoot, sorry. I've kept you from bed. We should go. I'll see you tomorrow. Sleep well, Sean."
And with that we parted ways.
I went to bed as soon as I got home, and then in the morning was woken up by my cell phone. It was my.. agent? What on earth? When did I get an agent? It took me a bit before I finally replied to him, and he then told me that the owner of Plasma 501 wanted me to drop by and buy a drink there. That sounded kind of fun, so I told my random unnamed agent that I'd do it after work that night. If it was just a scam, oh well, at least I would have fun at a vampire club. I've always been a big fan of vampires as it was, anyway.
Work came and went, Buster and I hung out most of the day, and then as soon as work was over, I changed into the dress I'd brought along for later, and headed off to Plasma 501. When I got there, I saw the incredibly handsome one star celebrity there, Rohan Giroux, with his wife Callie. He.. is gorgeous. I'd say I wish he was single, but I'd heard that he used to beat his wife until her best friend beat him to a bloody pulp for it. For all the public knows, he hasn't hit her since, but that could or could not be true.
Before I knew what I was doing, I had approached him and introduced myself. It was a very short conversation as we waited for the elevator, but it soon arrived and the conversation ended, and I headed to the bar to get my drink.
I got the drink and took a little bit to drink the whole thing, chatting with the bartender as I sat there. After I finished it, she paid me $1000 for getting a drink there. I stared at the money for the longest time, before officially deciding that my agent was the real deal. I thanked her, and then got up, heading back downstairs to the dance floor, spotting Rohan still there. I smiled, before heading over to chat with him. We started into some small talk, not quite about the weather but not far off, and it wasn't long before he glanced towards the door and made a rather frightened face. "Ah.. I gotta go, Sean. Sorry. Callie wants to get back home to the kids.."
"Oh, sure. Of course. See you later, Rohan."
"Yeah." And with that, he ran off after her. Evidently he was afraid of getting beaten up by his wife's friend again. I smirked and giggled slightly to myself, before deciding it was time for me to head home now, too.
After work the next day, I wanted a drink. No, not like I'd had a bad day, I just felt like something tasty like juice. So I headed to Waylon's Haunt, deciding that it was a pretty good spot for a casual drink. I ordered a Morcubus Molotov, and as I drank it, I glanced around the room and thought about how I wanted to meet someone new. And to my luck, I saw a vampire walk in. Oh my gosh! I loved vampires, and wouldn't mind being one, but it wasn't at the top of my priority list. So I stood from the bar stool, and headed towards him. Before I could get there, though, this rather creepy woman in medical scrubs stopped me with a strange glint in her eye, and asked if she could get my picture. I blinked, but then half grinned. "Sure.. if you really want a picture of me.."
"I DO, I do SO much!! I love you!" She was actually really creepy, but I still posed for her as she took my picture. I hope she knew I wasn't a lesbian, or even bi..
I then continued over to the vampire, and introduced myself. "Yeah, I know who you are," he replied, and gave me a vampiric smirk that made my heart race, and not in the good way - now I knew why some people vomited at vampires. "I'm Vladimir Schlick. It's very nice to meet you, Sean."
"It's nice to meet you, too."
And we talked for a little bit, but he left after a while because it was getting too close to sunrise. I decided that I'd stay until closing, and get another drink or two. This was a nice place with good atmosphere. Though I really debated leaving when I noticed that the woman from before was stalking me throughout the place. I went to the bathroom, she went in and stood near the sinks. I got a drink, she sat at the bar. I danced, she danced. I watched TV, she watched me. Just as I was about to leave, she asked me if she could get another picture, and I reluctantly agreed. As soon as she took it, I high tailed it out of there.
I got stuck in the elevator the way up to my apartment. It was kind of funny, and if anyone had been there they'd have laughed at the face I made. I grumbled about the elevator as I headed into my apartment and changed into my nightgown and then crawled into bed. I was out almost immediately, and then my rut started again when I woke up. Guitar time first. Then it was work. I still wondered how I could hear the horn from the eighteenth floor. Ah well.
After work, several of us got into an all-keyboard jam session. It was really fun, and I played for hours, before my mood for wanting to play was ruined when I saw my stalker from Waylon's Place watching me with a goofy grin on her face. I immediately stopped and grabbed my keyboard, deciding to socialize instead of perform.
Aria and I got into a conversation about work, and talked for quite a while, until someone started doing some neat tricks on the piano. "Oh! That's so cool!" I commented, turning to watch the pianist, Jett Atkins. I felt like someone was watching me though, and sure enough.. my stalker was behind me, watching me until I glanced back to see. She.. really creeped me out.
When Jett and the woman stopped playing on the keyboards, it was like everyone realized who I was and started asking for pictures. It was amazing just how many took pictures of me. It really made me forget about the stalker woman, and I was beaming from ear to ear. Being so loved.. it was so nice. I had been loved back home, but I only had a few people that actually wanted to be my friend. This was doing wonders for my self-esteem, and for the first time since before I turned thirteen, I felt like I was a pretty neat person. I was truly becoming spoiled! I got everything I ever wanted and was now famous and loved by most.
As long as I didn't get anymore stalkers, I'd love this.
(A/N: That woman was seriously stalking Sean, it was hilarious. Everywhere she went for a while, the woman would be there, and would actually follow Sean everywhere at the different places, even into the bathroom. And while everyone was watching the pianists, she was watching Sean. It was funny.)
